I had a gigantic cottowood taken down last fall that was just west of the house and this fall, a giant boxelder in the backyard. Both hung over the house. I knew it was just a matter of time before there would be trouble.

We took down two big-assed pecan trees out of the back yard five or six years ago. Good riddance.
Huge mature trees on a small residential lot aren't an asset, they're a liability.
Not in the high desert of Wyoming. Trees are rare, and definately an asset.

Where I live now, tree trimming requires a permit and a licence. I have a big tree pointed at me right now.
