Someone asked for a pic of our home made elk hoist. The commercial game hoists from places like Cabelas are too puny to pick up an elk. We built our own studier hoist. Dave got a cow yesterday and I got some pics of the elk hoist while it was set up. We also use it for antelope.

I solved that problem years ago by simply taking a knife and fork and a pack of matches into the deer woods with me.

Probably wouldn't work on a Supercub.

That gut pile is bigger than my deer!

How hard is it to winch it up.

What about a triangle rig like this. You could use 2” pipe, then 1 1/2” pipe to make legs telescope out longer.

hanco, that would have to be a permanent setup on the back of the truck. Might be too high to go under the overpass on hywy 191.
300 savage hunter, It's not too hard to crank up but we have considered putting an electric motor on it something like RIO7's rig.
So far we are in good enough shape to handle it as is.

It comes apart, legs could be made to telescope, it be no more than 7 foot long. The motorized wench is a cool idea.

taking it apart would be better. I still like ours because we can swing it out over the elk on the ground, hoist it up and swing it into the back of the truck. If yours is wide enough it could be set up over the critter, hoisted up and then back the truck under the critter.
