Picked up a 4" Model 27 recently so time to move this Outdoorsman.

Nice 'little' 6 1/2" 38 S&W Special (.38/44) N-Frame
Haven't shot it a ton since picking it up in July, but functions perfectly with everything I've run through it (light plinking reloads, factory 130's, factory 158's, couple GoldDot +Ps, and a box of Buffalo Bore 158 gr. hardcast +P).

Not a collector grade piece, not a basket case either. See photos for condition. Ask questions and I'll answer to the best of my ability (not a S&W collector by any means). Needs cleaning at time of photos, finger prints and powder residue remedied since.

What model is stamped inside the yoke?

It's likely made before they were marked with a model....I'd guess it's an early to mid 1950's pistol.

Nice looking gun....if it was mine I wouldn't sell it.

The gun is a Pre md 23. Smith did not model mark guns until 1958. Likely shipped in 1952 from the serial number on the face of the cylinder. These are great shooting guns!

As LFC and bravastar1 stated above - pre Model 23 so no mark.
