This is what a lot of our hunting looks like [/url]

That should do the job!
A fair bit of my hunting looks about like that, except we often manage to find a spot where a small pipeline ROW crosses a woods road and we can see maybe 100-250yds in several directions. The green background does help right at dark when something steps out of the timber.
Now with even more aplomb

Nice rifle. I like that setup. What contour is your Pac-Nor?
I think if I was hunting country like that my accuracy requirements would be something along the order of...
"Do bullets come out the end of the gun when you pull the trigger"
"Yes"
"Good deal. Time to hunt"

It's been a long time since built I think it's a #2 or 3 I would have to measure the muzzle.

Dare I say it? A 3" group is perfectly adequate for out to 200 yards, for deer and up, unless one is getting fancy. Until recently my 243 was about like that, and over 40 someyears, it killed several sheep, caribou, a couple black bears and a moose. None were over 150 yards. Finally ducked around with it getting just the right for=eend pressure point (the only one of my rifles that has one) and now hovers +- MOA. I still don't trust it over 200. Size matters, at least for confidence. And at longer ranges/ smaller animals.

I agree! It shoots better than that, I just wasn't trying for a micro group just making sure it had not suffered some crazy shift in POI. If you look at that "thing" i linked above that I was shooting over and combined with in a hurry was sort of equivalent to shooting off the deer stand.

cva v2? I think I have the same one!! It's very light and with 150 grs will whop you I'll work out a 100 gr load next year. We only get a week of ML season so that's basically a day for me most years. Good Hunting!!

POI didn't actually change much at 50 yards, but now I'm nuts on.
