I found a Savage 24 that had what appeared to be an electro nickel finish. It is in 357 Max/20ga. The price was $1400. Is that a fair price? How rare are the nickel guns in 357 Max?

"You can't pay too much, just too soon." That's a lot of money for a 24, even one double scarce like that. BUT... I have seen more common guns go for stupid money, close to that, fairly recently. My expert opinion is.... I dunno?

Here in West Central Florida...
Pretty much any of the 'normal' model 24's, 410/22, 20ga/22mag, etc., are going for $800-$1,000........ condition being average to good..

Sounds like it is a model 24VS made around 82/83. They have hardwood furniture, 20 inch barrels instead of 24 inch, and additionally came with a pistol grip handle.
Savage only chambered the 24 in .357 Max for a year or 2.
That gun is a rare bird and worth way more than $1400, grab it NOW !!!!

Sold before I could get back to it :-( Doesn't surprise me, they are pretty rare and in high demand by collectors. They only chambered the Savage 24 in .357 MAX for a year or 2. The last one I saw sold(years ago) was a regular 24V, not the nickel plated VS and it sold for $1500. I'd venture a guess that if that 24VS went on Gunbroker it would sell for north of $3,000.
