Anyhoo.... maybe twenty five years ago when the Rilling Stones were in town they stayed at the Hilton Hotel Resort which was then the Far West Side. One of my students was a limo van driver for the hotel.

He drove Jagger, Richards et al. to a Cancun Restaurant for dinner. Keith Richards sat up front, lit my student a cigarette.

The kid just smoked it, to him, even back then, they were just a bunch of old guys

Further back, I was a grad teaching assistant at a certain world class university where they had a Corps of Cadets. One of my cadet students came in near terminally hung over from a weekend of partying. He said to me “Ya know, I would worry about all this but, look at Keith Richards, he’s still alive.”

Of all the popular musicians of that era, I would say Richards is the most iconic and best beloved.

Stones

if i had to pick, i'd say stones. their music definitely aged better than the meatles.

I can tell a conservative voice from a liberal voice after one sentence.

Mick Jagger is a conservative, but his voice still sounds liberal.

My only other mistake is Seth MacFarlane, who still sounds like a conservative to me.

Like the Beatles, too. But don't fire up any of their songs in the truck on a regular basis like I do the Stones. Especially since I ditched Sirius XM.

Seen the Stones twice. Both times - mud, blood, and beer.

On Sunday May 11, 1969, the up-and-coming British rock 'n' roll band Led Zeppelin performs a legendary concert at a most unusual venue: Seattle's Green Lake Aqua Theatre.


I was there. There had never been any zeppelin air play in Seattle, so the only people there were in rock bands or biker gangs.
