Meh. I didn't say that's what you should do, but it's what I do. Hell, if all I'm doing is casting 20', I would want to overload the rod, plus I get 2 fly lines in one with a DT.

Why did anyone comment on this thread then? Seems he was asking about lines, it seems others answered. It seems you're a little touchy. Old men get that way

Because your opinion is your opinion and mine is mine. It’s called a discussion. Hang around the campfire for a decade or so and maybe you’ll find other folks have a lot of experience too. I find a WF line very suitable on my 3 weight for short casts, especially with larger flies like hoppers up to size 10 or so

Pugs, there are some of these in every discussion. Sad they exist to be a pain in the a$$.. The only way they get attention.
Probably, most old timers forgot more than these folks know.

Yea. Seems to be the new generation of members. Still, a lot of great folks here.

Interesting thread. My reel has a 32 year old Cortland line on it and I was wondering when I should consider replacing it. It has been used very little and had sat for 20 yrs without being outside.

You need to click on each line size to open the different weights and taper
