About the only scopes that interest me for 99.99% hunting is 1-5, 2-7, 3-9, 2-12, 4-12 etc with good eye relief, clear glass, rugged, repeatable adjustments good aesthetics and no A.O.
An A.O. is possibly the most stupid thing you could put on a low powered variable. If I was a bench shooter then it would be different but I’m not.
Maybe I should get a couple of the Tract scopes while they still make them.

I dunno. I’ll tell you this. If Sightron will call up LOW (they’re a Japanese-owned company, anyway, not sure who their “preferred” manufacturer is), and ask them to make some old Weaver Classics (the V3, the, V7, and the V9), and slap their name on them, I’ll buy 4 or 5 of the damn things.

It’d be nice to have something simple, that I can put on a lever action or rimfire, that doesn’t have huge turrets, or an eyepiece so large that I have to go up a size in ring height, just to get bolt clearance.

No crazy-azz features. No “illuminated German #1” reticles. Just 3 simple scopes, with duplex reticles.

I don’t want anything over 10x fixed or variable and no AO on big game hunting scope. Just more expense, more weight and something else to move unexpectedly.

These are all I will buy as well. Like somebody above said, what a VX3 used to be. Power of 2-7x32, 2.5-8x36, 3-9x40, 6x36. 1” tubes. Duplex reticle. Would prefer some gloss options. But will slum matte if forced.

I have no need for Christmas tree reticles. 30mm. Multiplication factors of 6. Turrets that look like shotgun shells hanging off the scope. Sleek. Simple. Streamlined. Please.

There are no options like this anymore. I buy a couple a year. Mostly used now.

What is the country of origin of this one? Sorry if it's been said and I missed it. Is that the price after rebate?

Philippines. Yes, it's an instant rebate which has already been deducted so you're paying only $274.99 for that scope.

Just an FYI, all Sightron Riflescopes are either Philippines or Japan. They do not make any of their riflescopes in China.

I was just about to post this same thought and saw you beat me to it. I'd think it'd be easy enough for LOW to the old weaver classic V line like the 1-3, 2-7, 3-9, and fixed 4 and 6 and put sightrons name on them. I always preferred the 3-9 to the 2-10 so I say skip the 2-10. They could probably sell a few V16's to the old curmudgeons too. That 4-16 was a good scope in its day.

I miss the original weaver grand slam 3-10x40 too so put that on the list and maybe the 4.75 fixed. The second generation grandslams had great glass and better retention springs too they should just change the damn power adjustment ring so it's not tge entire eyepiece like the old fullfields. That was a stupid move on weavers part to go to that turn the whole eyepiece design. I liked some weavers but often wondered if anyone on their marketing or design team had ever shot a gun.

Hav any of you bought one of these scopes in an illuminated reticle, and if so, how do you like it?

I have a need for a scope in this category, I am a little concerned about the size of the red dot. I think I like the reticle in the second one better.

good God, of all of those scopes 16x is the lowest high variable magnification. I don't think I need a 16x scope. Thanks anyway. RJ
