Don’t spoil it. Kroil it.

Ed, you have mentioned this before. I have used quite a bit of Sweet's--and Barnes CR-10, which is very similar--but eventually grew weary of having to wait the suggested 15-20 minutes (but no more) between pushing another patch through--which is what's generally considered required to avoid bore-pitting. This has been documented by several barrel manufacturers.

So am wondering how many rounds you shoot a year from your various centerfire rifles. Have noticed they're mostly big game rifles.

I use a combination of Pro Shot copper solvent IV and Sweets 7.62. It works just fine for me.

I'll start out with several wet/dry patches of butch's to start off then a couple of soakings with a foaming bore cleaner. After this I'll use GM break cleaner for any carbon left over then check for copper using Montana copper killer.
I've gotten away from using brushes.

I use wipe out, Butch's Bore Shine and JB bore paste depending upon the amount of dirt. I purchased a pre64 Model 70 fwt in 270 and the outside was pristine but the barrel was like someone shot it from day one and never cleaned it. It took some time but it's like brand new now.

Agreed.

I used to be done of those guys, but changed my ways several years ago. I would spend hours cleaning all of my guns with Hoppes #9 and Shooters Choice copper solvent. I found BTE and I just run a couple of soaked patches down the bore and lets it do it's magic for about an hour. Dry patch the bore and I'm done.

Kroil for carbon, WipeOut after that. Sometimes I let it sit in there a day or so because I hate cleaning rifles, which is probably why I don't do it very often.

Bore Tech Eliminator is some amazing stuff. Best I have ever used. No smell, can leave it in the barrel without issues - actually says on bottle to dampen a patch with it and run it through the bore before storing.

Hats to say best but it takes me less time and very little brushing than it used to with these:

Slip 2000 for carbon
Kroil for lead
Wipeout for copper
Sweet's for copper in newly acquired used to strip it
Shooters Choice for plastic

Butches for the bore, I keep remoil or hoppe's wipes on hand for exterior. When things get serious, kroil.

Finally got around to cleaning my first 22 suppressor after about 500 rounds. I waited too long. A few days in slip 2000 got a lot of it off the baffles, but I think a week will be better. Thought about running them through my walnut media to finish them up.

For shotguns to get plastic wad fouling out, and powder residue I use RGS. Best I've found to loosen and remove plastic.

Treat with DBC when I get the barrel, then WO after that. No brushes and no need to clean all that often.

This is basically what I do as well, except along with Wipe-Out also use Montana X-Treme solvents, especially Copper Killer when I want to clean the bore quicker. Generally a 30-60 minute soak with Copper Killer will get "normal" levels of fouling out, especially from a DBC'd bore.

Hah, I forgot to mention that I occasionally use ME Copper Killer when I don’t have time to let WO sit overnight.
