Picked this one up today and could find very little on it on English language pages.

What is stamped on the top of the receiver is:

ERMA-WERKE Mod. EG 72
Kal. .22l.r. 0015xx

Made in West-Germany

It is grooved for a scope and has a Tasco Pronghorn 4x32 scope.
The Front site hood is present but the rear site elevator is missing.

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks,
Kevin

It’s so I can find this post later so I can find out the answer. But a bump doesn’t hurt either.

I read your inquiry over at Rimfirecentral. Those fellas are a good source of information. You scored a very nice rifle, looking forward to your impressions on function and accuracy.

Congrats to your purchase. Although made in Germany they are quite rare.

About the ERMA factory:

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maschinenfabrik_Geipel

When searching for sites in a foreign language in Germany I have the option to have the contents of the site translated into German. That probably works vice versa.

Erma 22 rifles and pistols are of very good quality. A friend had a Model EG 71 in .22 l.r. The quality equals the one of a Winchester 9422.

Unfortunately there are almost no informations even in Germany about that gun.

Ithaca sold them here under their brand for many years.........Later Henry reintroduced basically the same gun and it is in production. Mr A Henry's daddy originally designed these guns for for Erma.

Yep. Iver Johnson also sold them here under their brand for a time. All essentially the same as todays Henry.
