The wife got me some Ramshot Hunter for Christmas. I'm not finding much loading information. Any pet loads in .338WM or 30-06 ? She said she saw the rifle on the label, and figured I could use it.

Thanks it looks like it will work for some of my needs! I was hoping to find .308 info also, no luck. I will work up some .338 loads and see how it compares to H4831.

I use it in the .243 and the 7x57. About the same burn rate as 4350
refer to the link in the previous post. Its good stuff.

Mr. Barsness wrote a good article, "Getting the Most Out of Your 30-06", linked HEREHe has some good advice on Ramshot Hunter with 180 grain bullets. Enjoy, Rex

Your wife knows her 30.06 powders:) I use hunter with 165 & 180 Grain, excellent speed and accuracy. Used it this year with a 180 grain Norma Oryx W/ 60.5 Grains of Hunter, Killed a nice Mule Deer with that combo.

Aside from Ramshot's data, there's an article in the 2022 Hodgdon Annual Manual specifically about Hunter handloads. Its hitting newsstands now, and can also be ordered from Hodgdon.

I used it in a couple 260Rem rifles where it worked fine and I tried it in the 6.5x284 but I went to a slower powder in them..
I'll be getting the newest Annual, Thanks Mule Deer!

You’ve done well to marry a woman who can ferret that out! 58 grains behind a 180 grain Nosler partition works great in my 30-06.
Where did she find it?

I use it in the .243 and 6.5 CM and it works well there, but I haven't used it in the 30-06 or .338 WM yet. It's nice to see several of the Ramshot powders available over the last couple of months.

TJAY, confirm those data are for the .338 WM? Might want to edit that to clarify if that's so.
Cheers, Rex

I appreciate all the information. The wife was in our local BiMart, she said they only had two, so she bought both. She also said they had round containers also, the clerk didn't know if it was for rifles, but this one had a little picture of a rifle. I laughed the way she explained deciding her choices! I put some aught 6 brass in the tumbler. I try 165 red box. I have a good supply and lots of 180 choices. Thanks !

Its good stuff. Excellent in 243, 270, 30-06 and 7-08. I bought 5 pounds last spring on sale at midway really cheap and I wish I would have bought 10.

I’ve gotten superior results with Hunter in .257 Roberts. My Ramshot data also shows top velocity in .30-06 with 168’s.

Yeah, Hunter Powder is a top performer in my 30-06. Makes those 168 T-TSX really move with great accuracy.

I have gotten some ridiculously high velocities with Hunter and 110gr. TTSX bullets in my 270Win. I've got some 165gr.TTSX and 180gr. TBT bullets that I need to load up to test in my 30-06.
The local Scheels had some Hunter in stock last week. I should have grabbed another pound!
