Notice in my prev post i said marketed, not made.

The last conversions I saw were just a few yrs ago and were not the old classic Ace stuff.

Maybe called Ace II.

IIRC these were like the Kimber conversions. I dont know who actually made em. Maybe Colt did.

Think my LGS sold a couple.

I have S&W M 17, 18, 34 ,617 &41. A High Std Supermatic and a Colt Match Target and Ruger MKII. The M41 is the heaviest of all of them but super accurate as is the Colt. In the semi autos I only use SV ammo. I really prefer the revolvers and a 6 inch K22 is hard to beat and you can use any type of ammo. My favorite K 22 has target trigger, hammer & grips. It's my go to revolver.

You’ve probably got all the info you need but I’ll add my two cents.
I’ve had two M41 both older guns. 5” and a 7 whatever “ I preferred the the 5”.
I have had two model 18. First one was no dash the second was an 18-2.
I have had two Ruger Heavy barells.
I’ve had one High Standard. It was s lighter gun and a friend talked me out of it before I even shot it, so no experience there.

The 7” Smith didn’t work when I bought it. I sent it back to S&W. They kept it for about a year. I got it back with a note that it had quite a few “ghost” parts in it. They replaced them and sent it back “no charge”. It worked flawlessly.

Both 18s gave me no problems, but I enjoy shooting semi-auto more, especially at the range.

I currently only own the Newer Ruger . It’s been fine, but I still would rather have my 5” Model 41. Less muzzle flip. That would be the one I’d want back. I shot std velocity and they both worked great.

Now you have me thinking, I might just trade for another M41.

Everyone has their favorites, sometimes those decisions are based on nothing more than early shooting experiences, memories with Dad, etc.

In my opinion no handgun collection is complete without an early K22. Get the cleanest, oldest example you can find/afford. You will never regret it.

After that my personal favorite ( again, see above) is an older M41.

One more question concerning a suitable holster for a High Standard Victor/Supermatic Citation/Trophy....

If anyone of you has access to one of these pistols and 1911-suitable holster would that holster also accomodate a High Standard Pistol? And what about the Bianchi 89(L)? Would that host a High Standard 22 pistol?
