Anybody familiar with this area? I’m thinking about a type 5 or 6 tag this year. I’m out of points in Wy after using them last year so I’m looking for a tag I might draw with 0 points.
Thanks
Chris

That is big country. Lots of elk but they can be hard to sneak up on. They can be scattered all over the unit, from the interstate all the way to the Prospects. Be prepared to see 20 big bulls before you see a cow. That seems to be how most people experience Unit 100.

Of those two license types, type 5 would be the best bet. You’re pretty limited on real estate to hunt (that’s relative it’s still a huge area) with the type 6. Whereas type 5 gives you run of the whole area.

I would look to other areas as odds are not great for NR in 100. Lots of cow tags out there to be drawn in areas with great access.
