Very nice, huntsman22. At what distance did you take the porcupine? And what load did you use?

cci segmented subsonic. 4 rounds to make him fall outta the tree, and one in the neck to finish him when he hit the ground. He was about 40 foot up.....

Interesting. Never knew they climbed. Don’t have them around here. We seen plenty of em on our muley hunt out in Montana last year though.

A German friend of mine was on bow hunt in Michigan decades ago. All he got was the "shot and missed a deer"-award from the Fred Bear Sports Club and a porcupine shooting out of a tree. The arrow didn't penetrate completely and he had to retrieve the arrow from the carcass. Even the blood of that critter was stinking he later said.

Me and my cousin got out for a nice hunt last night. We each shot big ol male coyotes. We probably should have taken both their partners as well but we choked on both. Oh well, that’s hunting I guess. Each hunt is a learning experience and hopefully next time we can use that to our advantage! Weather was nice and it was just a good night to get out. I’m really liking my .204 AR I put together for this night hunting! It knocks em off their feet. I’m really hooked on this night hunting currently!

Great shooting RickyBobby! My kid sent this pic over from the maiden voyage of the Pulsar Trail 2 XP50. He say's the constant ranging in the view finder is legit. Not sure Nanny would approve of using the grandkid as bait tho, laugh

It's been the worst year I've ever experienced for coyote hunting. Until yesterday I'd had no luck whatsoever.

James, is that coloration pretty common in KY? Pretty unusual for around here but looks really nice.

Maybe, just maybe the numbers are down and the turkeys will get a chance over the next few years

The color is pretty much what most of the coyotes here look like. But, I've killed black ones, red ones, and saw one the other day that was as blonde as my wife is. So, they do vary quite a bit, but most of what I've seen are like this one.

I must be on a roll, lucked into another this afternoon. The 22-250 and a 40 grain Nosler BT worked to perfection, as did the FoxPro.
