If the Ukraine and Georgia wants to join NATO how why should Russia be able to tell them they may not. Would you like some looser commie outfit telling you what you can and cannot do?

Yurrup is lost, sooner or later. If not the Russians, then by the French and Germans who are already working on an EU military, supposedly to project EU Power and influence in the world, but probably to subdue those pesky member countries that think they should have a say in their own affairs. It’s already being called The Fourth Reich. Strangely enough, Germany has already abandoned the pledge they made during the Trump Presidency to spend 2% of their GDP on defense, an odd posture unless they plan to continue to rely on the U.S. for protection from Russia while oppressing other EU countries with their new EU forces. (A while back I read that Germany can’t even muster a full fighter squadron, pretty fuggin’ pitiful for the richest country on the continent)

If Russia attacks the Ukraine and we get involved, China will likely invade Taiwan, knowing we probably can’t or won’t interfere. I think we should focus on the Pacific, where we have pretty reliable allies in the Australians, S. Korea, Japan, and possibly India.

With Biden as President, we’re pretty much f*cked if anything serious occurs.

Letting the former independent eastern European countries like Hungary, Poland, etc., into NATO was a good idea, since they were historically independent. I can even go with the 3 Baltic states. Enticing any of the former SSRs was a big mistake, though.
