The only way this gets better is for demand to drop. You can not add enough supply soon enough to make this go away.
It takes too long and you wouldn't want to if you could.
Demand needs to and will taper off allowing supply to catch up, the lump in the snake to dissipate and back to "normal".
Reduction of demand is likely to come from either a recession/depression or continued inflation.

"Build Back Better" does not refer to the country or the economy. It means "Increase the Power of the Democrat Party to a full Dictatorship." The "Let Us Control All Elections" bill is the cornerstone of that effort. ..............Amen to that. It's actually the "Build Back Bolshevik" plan; or is it "Build Back Bankrupt" ? Either way they can't actually call it what it is because that would be too obvious.

Anyone has a followup on Governor DeSantis offer to unload the ships in Florida. I went alongside the Port in Ft Lauderdale on a fishing charter and everything seemed to be running smoothly

These ships need to line the coast from Florida to Louisiana and let California drop off the map. If California is the hold up let shipping come from a different direction and a trucker would never have to drive in that state again!

As of 1/6/2022, there were 106 container ships at anchor, drifting nearby, or slow steaming towards the LA / Long Beach ports. Nearly double of what was bobbing around before.
Core problem: shortage of drivers and equipment (both trucks and chassis), and the inability of the port to accept return empties (which keeps them on the chassis since there's no other place to put them, taking the chassis out of circulation).
If you want to know why there's inflation: it's on a boat somewhere. I heard a little blurb on the news a couple weeks ago. Three quarters of a million dollars to get through the canal. Plus fuel. Then, the extra return time. FL is a talking points game. It's not practical. And this assumes the ships that would fit, the biggest can't fit the canal or most ports.

Our daughter is a trucking broker and said drivers are turning down $7 a mile. I got this second hand not directly from her, so could that number possibly be true? Holy cow man. Doesn’t help California won’t let individual owner/operators haul from the ports either. CA is run by the unions. You can thank them for that boondoggle.
