You get blasted like the Weather Channel said? We got some cold and wind, that's what January is for. Nothing else to do, might as well gripe about the weather.

We're not supposed to get much snow or ice accumulation here in my area (West KY) this go-around. So far maybe an inch or two of rain snow mix with highs in the 30s and 40s, lows in the teens and 20s predicted. Sounds like per the video the worst is supposed to be west and then move south of where I live, then east. Got 3" - 4" inches of dry powdery snow last week but it all had melted off in 3 days.

Monday could be interesting for us,maybe 10-12" of snow.
Not a huge deal.we get it every year.
Ice is worse, imo
Plan ahead and be safe.

Looks like fun for some folks... that was the prediction a day or so ago.

Cold settled in last night, foot of snow on the way. Wood stove is cranking, coffee is brewing and getting ready to throw together some Taco soup in the crock pot.. Ready for a nice winter weekend.

From what I’ve seen, this area is gonna get a pile of snow on account of the cold air.
Channel 10 (CBS) local said that usually 10” of snow is equal to about an inch of rain.
This storm is more like 15” snow to an inch of rain. It’ll pile up quickly.
No big deal. I’ve survived a few dozen snowstorms. Just stay off the road unless you absolutely have to be somewhere. If you have to travel, leave early and allow plenty of time.
When it stops snowing, you dig yourself out.
They always act like it’s the end of the world, because fear means tv ratings, and that means $.

Looks like Nashville,TN could get hammered pretty hard with ice and snow mix. Same for parts of Georgia and the Carolinas.

Pretty significant snow accumulations of snow possible for parts of Arkansas, too.

Next 10 days in so Idaho: partly cloudy, highs low 30s, lows upper teens to low 20's. Looks like more of a boring January.

Snow sucks, but at least it doesn't get deep in your house like it does when it isn't frozen.

^^^THIS^^^

It's total fake news to push their BS.

This is about as average as it gets. We'll get 6" and then it'll turn to sleet, then turn to pouring down freezing rain. That 6" of snow will turn to 4" of solid ice. Then the trees will start coming down. I'll probably lose power for 3 days. That's just my prediction. The guys that I deal with in the interior in Western MD and NE PA are supposed to get about 18".
