Finally, some good groups out of my .204 Ruger! After experiencing some pretty blase results with BLC2 and, H335, and TAC, CFE 223 is finally helping me produce some pretty good groups for me out of my Savage 12 FCV. This group occurred at the higher end of the velocity spectrum, should be around 4100, but haven't shot it over the chrono yet. Best part - I found it in the 8 lb jug, so I should be set for quite a while. Boyd's stock on order, we will see if that will tighten them up some more. Life is good!

Couple year ago loaded up 700 rounds in the 20 Practical, with 39 gr Sierras, and CFE223.
best accuracy was a hair over redline....
just passing it on....

How did the ones look on each side of that charge weight? Say .3 grains more and .3 grains less. Also, a stock change isn't going to make a difference in how a rifle shoots, if you are properly glass bedding your rifle. Which you should be doing anyways. Those Savage rifles can shoot. With a little more tweaking, you should be shooing 1 hole 3 shot groups with it. I never wasted my time shooting 3 shots with mine. 5 and 10 shots were more telling of the rifles full potential.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I just picked up 2lbs of this from LGS. $70 I’ve always used Benchmark but it’s nowhere to be found these days. I still have a good supply but I wasn’t leaving the shop without buying something so CFE223 it was. Looks good on the shelf and I might give it a go with some Speer 55gr SP I have.

I've use CFE 223 in 7mm-08 with 120 gr BT and TTSX. Gives just a little more horsepower.

I’ll have to try CFE223 in the 204, have been using H4895. Have had good luck in the AR using CFE223 with bullets in the 62 to 69 grain range.

My cz 204 likes the cfe 223 and 35gr bergers. That was the first powder I tried and it shot so well I didn't see the need to try anything else. It also shoots the Hornady 40gr superformance ammo just as good.

Up til now I've been using Benchmark behind the 40 grainers in my 204s. Since I'm down to a half pound left, I guess it's time for new load development with the CFE 223. The six or eight lbs I got of it should last me awhile.
I could wish a lot of things on my worst enemy but neuropathy ain't one of them.

My favorite powder in my 20 practical is CFE when I use the 35 gr Bergers.

Varget use to be my main powder for centerfire rifles. I started using CFE223 when it came out and now us it in 223, 22 CHeetah, 243, 6.5 CM, 7-08 and 308 regardless of bullet type and weight. Still have 6 lbs of 8 lb jug but bought a 1 lb jug 3 wks ago because it was $38 . Will still use Varget, IMR 4350, H4350, IMR 4451 and StaBall 6.5 if I have too, but like the CFE223 best.

CFE223 is great for velocity but watch the pressures as the temp warms up. Pretty temp sensitive powder

Had a guy behind the counter at the LGS tell me it was better than AR Comp. Even though he had never tried AR Comp. I told him to keep thinking that and tell everyone that comes in looking for powder that too. Glad they had 10 pounds of AR Comp there for me to buy too...
