I had a buddy who did this and didn't like the results, but that was a SS M70 .375 H&H, he wound up just ordering a custom. He just didn't like the looks of it, and why he went with a custom barrel. What are the pros and cons of a re-contour? I figure they are about the same as a rebore.
I've a couple of barrels that I wouldn't mind being lighter. If I keep them one needs to be threaded so I can run my suppressor. Both barrels are Savage magnum contours, fluted, and 18" long and weigh basically 3 lbs each. I've listed both for sale, but if they don't move I want to make them into something I'll actually reach for instead of leaving rifles in the safe.
