I’m looking at a Winchester 70 Classic Stainless Laminate in 300 Win Mag. It is serial # G114 XXX and has the BOSS. This gun has the factory grey laminate stock and looks completely original. My question is did the early run of grey laminate guns have the BOSS option? Or is this a cobbled together gun? Thanks for any help!

Yes the boss was an option in that time period. They are a bit load out to the side but work very well to fine tune a load as I understand it.

I had that exact rifle.

Had no use for the BOSS, so it became a donor for a 7mm Dakota.
