Only 44% of Americans can. Just saw that on Charles Payne and thought wow. Over half of Americans would have to charge it on a credit card, borrow from a family member or take out a loan for $1000.

I work with guys who make $40 or more per hour who couldn’t cover a $500 emergency let alone $1k. It’s absurd.

If a $1000 will fix it, it ain't really an emergency.

We've had to do it many times but put on our Costco CC even though we don't have to. We play it off immediately but get a cash refund at the end of the year.

Yes and so could my 23 year old daughter and my 20 year old son. Fiscal responsibility was one of the major lessons they were taught while growing up in our home. Our school system should spend the time and effort they put into social justice into teaching fiscal responsibility to our youth, our country would be better off.

Most of them have $800 smart phones and buy Starbucks type drinks daily.

That’s insane! In my opinion….. A very few are in that situation through little fault of their own. The vast majority have $200 Nikes, an IPhone 13, and many extravagances but zero savings. Not sure what one does about them, except helping them via handouts of taxpayer money only enables them.

the more you make the more you spend... Only if you're stupid. And yes, I could cover that, even if you added another "0", without even flinching.

Well I figured most of the Campfire members would have no problem covering $1000, most have that much in their 'just in case I find a good deal' gun fund. I also imagine many of the Campfire members are 40+ and know what it's like to be financially responsible. I was just shocked when I saw that over 1/2 of Americans could not come up with $1000 if they needed to.
