100grand? I'd have to take out a loan on the house, it's paid for but I'd do it if I have to do it.

10 grand would be pushing it. The roof, furnace and new (used) car took a hit on savings.

I know a guy who went on a cruise to Alaska. When he got back he said he had seen so many liver spotted tits that he would never be able to get it up again. Be cheaper than a 5th wheel.

I didn't hear Charles Paynes talk but I'd say that it's closer to 44% couldn't come up with $400 in an emergency. My guess is the percentage of folks who couldn't reach $1000 is far higher.

All I can say is God bless Dave Ramsey. He's changing peoples attitude toward debt in a good way.

To answer the question Yes, easily.

The original statistic is from a Fed reserve release in 2018. It was 39% and $400.

I’m curious why it’s anyones business. If I want to be broke and have tv and watch foosball, that what I’ll do.

As long as they’re not mooching off the tax payers, mind your own damn business.

Ah, but many do mooch. Many others piss and moan about being broke, but never question the propaganda cost. Sorry that I hit a nerve.

It's really sad when you think about it. I don't have a $1k in my wallet at the moment.

THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tell me that again after lightning fries your water pump or your fridge/freezer conks out.

That’s home maintenance; not an emergency. Happens all the time. Be prepared for it.
Yeah, be prepared for lightning strikes and any other natural disasters that might arise. Such things are not emergencies. LOL

I’m just telling you what I do. I drive what I can pay for. I live in what I can pay for. When it breaks, I fix or replace it. It isn’t a big deal if you aren’t making payments.
I'd be willing to bet that the vast majority of people would consider those things emergencies.

.
Probably so. I don’t know. Are you in the “vast majority”? If so, you are a dumbass

It is sad. Good habits are hard. We should teach our kids math life skills in school. They learn to graph a line. Who tf ever graphs a line. You use money every day. Teach them those skills.
