Somewhere around 3:30-4am I heard several sounds… not really concussive booms, but more like the woof from air pressure changing when a man-door opens and closes in a garage or shop. Woke me up thinking someone was coming n the garage… found nothing and went back to sleep. Turns out it was probably that volcano in Tonga… pretty wild. https://mustreadalaska.com/the-shockwave-heard-round-the-world-tonga-hunga-haapai-eruption/

Amazing it could be heard that far away. When I saw it in relation to the entire globe it was just incredible.how large it was. Wonder if any boats were in the area.

My daughter in Palmer said the same thing about her doors. She also said the boom noise, reminded her of distant artillery, but knew it wasn't.

Only things that wake me are a full bladder and dogs frightened by high winds and gusts.

We heard it at our rec cabin off Oil Well Rd, Ninilchiik. Dogs responded.
Had no idea what it was. I thought it was construction banging or dropping something several miles away.
And yeah, Mike. Wind and bladders too. Every f*&^% night....

IIRC. - and I don't recall the name of the big eruption/volcano in Indonesia that went off in thr 1800s? I do remember reading that the sound was heard in London, and it sent a tidal wave around the world 3 times. True or not, I don't know. Krakatoa- looked name up. 1883 Read Wiki: It was the air pressure wave that traveled around the globe 3 1/2 times, not the tidal wave. Some sea effect was noted in London, whether from the tidal or from the air pressure wave is uncertain, apparently. Ear drums were shattered 40 miles away. at least 36,000 deaths associated with it. The town of Merak was destroyed by a tidal wave of about 150'.

They say it was equivalent to 600 Hiroshima bombs. That's some power, even in today's standards.
