I think Sinema is actually pretty left leaning. As I recall she has a degree in sociology, so that should tell you something. However, she appears to be pretty smart about reading the political winds and recognizing that if she wants to be reelected she has to be a bit careful about how she votes on hot button issues. I think she wants to be a senator for a long time and is voting accordingly based on Arizona politics. I would agree. . She likes that Senate cafeteria chow.

Doesn't manchin have his own bill on the filibuster written up? Or was it on voting? I think he would be easier to turn back to the dark side. He did, and submitted it to Biscum. That was on BBB, not on the filibuster.

Interesting and somewhat revealing thread - speaks more about our posters than it does about KS.
Yes, she is a politician who reads the wind and tries to secure her future - but she seems far from ordinary among that crowd. Who knows her actual bed rock ideology - I sure don't, and am not knowledgeable enough to speculate here.
Not so for others - much emphasis on who she is, what she thinks and wants, questionable motives - reads like People Magazine. Is that substantive in comparison to what she has actually done in this matter?
No doubt there are other Dem Senators who did not want to vote 'yes" and her stance - and action - gave them cover. Did they collude on that - who knows?
But - she DID something very telling, and stood by it. How much does her action matter in comparison with the speculation points?
