Bought one cheap in 20 gauge...I know it's not top of the line. But what do you guys know about them?

i'm pretty sure thats the one my brother has. although he hasn't hunted in years, i know he shot a truckload of game with it. i remember it being a light, slick handling gun but nothing fancy. he could slam 3 shots off in the blink of an eye with it.

Havent seen a Model 67 in awhile now, the 410s are really desirable from what I hear

I bought one from Woolworth back in 1980 still my go to love it.

Gramps sold me a 3" 12 ga in 1979 for $35. Bucks like a mule. No rib, no pad. Fit n finsish leaves something to be desired, but that plane Jane shotgun was my first and killed a lot of critters. It still resides in the safe.

This one is a 28" barreled 20 gauge. Price was good until I added the shipping and taxes and FFL fee lol

The ones i have seen and shot have been slick shooting shotguns.

Even shoot a good pattern with 7 1/2 shot at the rear quarter panel of a buds pick up.

But he was dead on that quail that he didn't see his truck.

Guy on GunBroker had "actual shipping" on the auction but is charging $55. Ouch. Maybe he is shipping me a bunch of lead with it

We used to call them "meat guns". No frills, several different variations but by and large pretty good guns. Make sure the butt stock is tight as they were prone to breaking in the wrist. Other than that they were actually pretty good guns.

Or maybe he's in China.

Bought one new from JC Penny in the summer of 1976 to dove hunt with.
It was a 12-gauge w/ a 28-inch barrel and a modified choke; it was hard kicking beast.
It was the epitome of a solid utility shotgun and I used it until I purchased a S&W Model 1000 from the Navy Exchange at Camp Lejeune several years later.
It provided good service and accounted for lots of birds, rabbits a few squirrels and a few ducks over the four or five years that I had it.
I have not seen one in years but if one was to show up now in good condition, I'd have no issues keeping it around the house as a utility shotgun.

Utilitarian - very common firearm, and many parts are still available.. One caveat - do NOT attempt to remove the trigger guard assembly before at least loosening the buttstock.. And you'll need the correct sized punch to remove the front pin..

I believe that the Stevens 67 is a lower cost version of the Savage 30. They used hardwood in place of walnut and the bluing might not have had as high a shine, but the parts were interchangeable.

My son started trap shootng with a Savage 30T and we have a couple of other Savage 30s around, one with a 28" fixed modified choke and vent rib barrel, the other with a 22" barrel with rifle sights. The second is my primary home protection gun with #4 buckshot. They are heavier than comparable Mossberg 500 'cause they are made of steel and wood, not alloy and plastic. I think that they are good shotgun and because they weren't popular, generally have lower prices.
