It’s a factory rifle for guys with big dicks. I knew you wouldn’t understand.

Cooper makes a 6x45
drover
223 Rem, my favorite cartridge - you can't argue with truckloads of dead PD's and gophers.

I'm in the process of having a Tikka re-barreled to 6x45.

I was going to say Cooper or find a used Kimber, but that's been covered. However, you can usually pick up and rebarrel a .223 bolt action cheaper than either. I built one because CO state regs require 6mm or larger diameter bullets, if you don't have similar regs then I'd build/buy a fast twist .223 Rem.
You might look at a rifle in 6 ARC or 6.5 Grendel. There are far more factory offerings from a few manufacturers. I will say that the 6X45 is a fun, and versatile rifle just make sure to use at least a 1:8 twist.

The 6 ARC isn’t a bad deal. If they make some bolt guns it’ll make it even better. I’ve been shooting 3 of Hornadys offerings trying to empty some brass out so I can work up my own load. They aren’t horrible by and large in my AR but just like anything else certain guns prefer one load a little more than another. The 6x45 would be pretty cool too in the right rifle.

The 6x45 is cool in the AR platform and you don't have to worry about your bolt giving up. Let us know how many rounds you get on yours Scotty.. In a bolt gun, I'd be looking at a 6ARC more seriously. In an AR, not so much..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I was goofing around with LVR this afternoon and 108 ELD. Did a very brief work up with it to see how it looked at 2700+ with the 108’s in my gun. 31 grains looked pretty good to me. So I loaded 10 at 2.280 and burned em up. Shortened them a bit Tried a little shorter as well. I’ll stick with 2.270 and just run it. With the 1-6 on top I’m not going to go crazy burning through bullets to find perfect. The 6 ARC is just easy in my book. No trick moves or anything to make it make some speed and it seems eager to please. It should hammer coyotes as well. I’m hoping that 108 is as soft as others report. If so it should have some good swat.

Are bolts breaking a big thing with them? We broke some back in 03/04 on our 416’s when we started using the 77 grain Black Hills stuff around 10k rounds or so. After they were all retro’ed id never heard of it again.
