This is probably a long shot here, but I have one female charcoal lab left from our litter. She's just 7 weeks and will be ready to go home 1/28. She's AKC with first round of shots, dewormed and vet checked. We are asking $1200 with an unlimited AKC registration. These pups are pets and not from hunting stock, but the bitch is pretty birdy and this pup is using her nose quite a bit already. We are in the Rochester NY area and I don't want to ship her but I would drive a couple hours to meet a buyer. Any questions feel free to ask.

Charcoals, silvers and champagnes all have a recessive gene commonly referred to as dilute. Charcoals are actually black labs that look frosted, or dark gray in color. Silvers are dilute chocolates, Champagnes and dilute yellows. AKC does not recognize the dilutes as their own color so they are registered as whatever the base color is. They are becoming more and more popular every year.

This is only our third litter in 7 years and the first for this bitch. We are not a breeder or kennel. These pups are raised in our house and get tons of attention. With the first 2 litters we had 9 each and all were sold by 6 weeks. I think this time it's a combination of time of the year and the economy that's making it harder to find good homes for them.

Thanks for the info. I had heard of the Silvers, but not Charcoals or now, Champagnes.

Yep. I had one many years ago and I would have another but the wife would be even more difficult to live with.
