Going to work up a load using the Barnes 129 gr. LRX bullet and RL 26 powder, primers will be CCI 250. Any experience or recommendations using these components? thanks.

I know it is not the same thing, but the latest Speer reloading manual has .270 WSM load data for 130gr Hot Cores and Grand Slams using RL26.

A 270 WSM mated to a 129 LRX should be an elk lazer................

I'm shooting them in Hornady brass, 67.8gr RL26, Fed 215, 0.050 jump and getting 3310 fps out of a 24" Bartlein barrel. I don't have my notes near me but I know it's a low ES and groups under 2" at 300 yds. When developing the load I pushed over 3380 fps but I was getting ejector hole marks on the brass. In MY RIFLE 67.8 gr is easy bolt lift and no marks on the brass (in cool weather). Please use caution and work up form lower charges.

405wcf That’s a meat getter for sure! I wouldn’t mind trying that out.

405wcf Thanks for the info! My target velocity, if accuracy can be achieved along the way, is 3300 fps.
