A local shop opened up around here about six months ago. They were selling locally raised and processed beef. You can buy whole, halves, or quarters but the best thing is a counter full of really good steaks, roasts, and so and so forth. The last two times I’ve been in they have had virtually nothing in the store except for some steaks and a few other things that clearly weren’t part of their local production . It seems that the USDA made them redo all of their paperwork and the inspector has not showed up for the last three appointments. Thus, they can’t sell any of their products under the glass.

They were kicking ass and delivering a local product people wanted. Then the federal government through incompetence, laziness, or pure malice killed their business. They are hopeful that the horse’s ass USDA inspector shows up on Monday, but they ain’t holding their breath. They really can’t go much longer at this rate.

Anyway, just a rant about how our government is long past the stage of being anything but an enemy of the people.

How would they know? The inspector will not show up when he is scheduled to show up.

They need to contact their US Rep

Something I learned in the construction trade was that going over the head of an inspector never ends well. This COVID-19 crap is giving a lot of lazy people cover. JMHO. Dave

There is virtually nothing that the federal gov does for citizens anymore that actually is beneficial in any way to the people actually paying taxes.

It's devolved into purely a pyramid scheme that takes money from the citizens & preferentially re-distributes it as the criminals in DC see fit.

Maybe it's time to get a House or Senate member involved. I had a buddy do that when the BATF was hounding him about 15 years ago. He called Chuck Grassley and the next time they came out it was a whole different tune. They left him alone after that.

Has happened countless times all over the country and sadly continues to happen without any sign of slowing down. Our own bureaucracy is choking the life out of small business every day. When will the people finally say enough is enough????
