I’m having a R700 custom built in 6mm creedmoor. The barrel is a 1-7” twist 22” Hart mountain contour.
What kind of full power velocities can I anticipate using 80gr & 100gr bullets? I’m also curious if anybody has a preferred powder to achieve the maximum velocities. I’m thinking that the 6mm Creed will take the place of both my 240wbys and I’ll send them sailing down the road. Thx.

I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

Not sure about 80s but I'm at 3050ish with 108s in two Kimbers.
Yup.

I get a bit over 3100 with SB6.5 and Hornady 105 HPBTs. Pretty great little cartridge.

My 24” Lilja 6 CM gives easy 3050 FPS with 108 Eldm. I m using imr4831 just because I got it. (42 grs) But if you want more velocity and have R23 or R26 ( both high energy and double based powders) 3100 FPS should be easy with a 22-24” barrel. More if you want to beat on your brass pressure wise.
I ve not tried 80 s or anything light but I d guess 3200-3300 FPS is very doable. Good luck and be safe.

42.7 gr. H4350 behind a 105 Hybrid gives me 3060 in my 24" 6mm Creedmoor 1-7 twist. I'm sure I could get more with another powder but it's really accurate. It's hard to squeeze more H4350 into the case than that.

My buddy had a 6mm Creedmoor he shot 600 yard with he said at about 700 rds it started loosing accuracy.
I'm hearing the 6.5 Creedmoor gets longer accuracy life....I'm guessing it's because the 6mm Creedmoor is overbore.

I can get get 3150 with 110s in a 26" barrel without pushing it. I'd imagine a 22" should get close to that with an 80.

I get a bit over 3100 with SB6.5 and Hornady 105 HPBTs. Pretty great little cartridge. Great little cartridge, and SB6.5 seems real interesting. I'm only running H4350 and Superformance. Velocity must be around 3,000 fps with the 108 Hornady ELD-M. Haven't ever run it across the chronograph, but it sure is accurate. I'd better check that rascal over a chronograph... Regards, Guy

Id anticipate 3350 to 3450 with the 80's Though I am questioning which 80's you intend to focus on? The 7 twist is torqued up for bullets in the 110 to 115 grain category. Not to say lighter can't ow won't work.
