mbhunt, Beautiful buck ! Same story with me, have shot several blacktail and mule deer, but got my first whitetail this year too. Nothing like yours, but still very excited over it. Idaho F&G also had a special hunt this year for Mulie and Whitetail for a chronic wasting disease study. Got a whitetail doe tag, and scored there too. Plenty of tasty deer meat this year. ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/VBQG1Fql.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/jxJqgvTl.jpg)

Dang it Man ! That is a dang nice buck.... look at those brow tines !
If a good dog will last 15 years.... and a pick up will last you 10 years... then, by my math... I'm only good for three more trucks and two more dogs before I'm done.
They only win.... when they cheat.

He shot a 4x4 and he sent in lymph nodes to see if it had chronic wasting disease. I don't think he's got the results back yet.

Once you eat whitetail you won't go back to mule deer. I let all mule deer walk.

Well, I've shot a bunch of whitetail (only a few mulies) and I've never gotten a brow tine half that tall! Well done.

Love the character.
Any idea of age? Sure looks old, by the ears anyway.

Not sure on his age but I'd think he was probably 5+ years. He definitely had been through some battles as you noticed with his ears.
