One of my friends is looking at a Christensen Arms after-market stock for his Remington 700.
He asked me what I think of them and since I don't know that I've ever seen one of them, I thought that I would send this question to the 24HCF braintrust.
So, what do you think?
Good? Bad? Comparable to what?

They're not bad. Early models has a 'spongy', open cell Limbsaver pad on them, which I didn't care for. For me the drop at comb was way too much to get a good cheek weld with optics installed, including 40/42mm objectives. I swapped all of mine out for either McM Game Hunters, Game Stalkers, or Mesa Precision Attitudes.
If your friend is interested, I have 2, factory CA stocks (LA) that came off of Ridgelines, that I'd pass along for well less than CA wants for one.
I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.

keep in mind the ridgeline is for a varmint/proof sendero barrel profile

To tell you what I think of them, I have four CA rifles, they all wear McMillans. To put one on a Rem 700 would be dependent on how bad the original Rem 700 stock is compared to the CA. That said, there's really nothing "wrong" with the CA stocks, you can't expect much from a factory rifle as far as stocks go, the market is too competitive.

My friend is always looking for a deal, wanting to buy filet mignon for ground beef prices, and saw these stocks on the Optics Planet site for $350. After shooting my 6.5x55 at the range, he was looking at buying a B&C Weatherby-style Medalist stock like the one that I have on that Howa 1500, but he thought that he might be getting a better stock for just a little more money with the Christensen Arms stocks..

Different people have different priorities. My friend is an avide golfer and a casual hunter, so he allowcates his funds accordingly.

Better is obviously subjective. I have both. I can't answer the question. The feel is appreciably different. The CA is very thin through the wrist. The B&C is thick. I'd encourage him to handle a CA Mesa stocked rifle before buying one.
