Caught a semi mild case of Covid over Christmas. I did not loose taste and smell.
But I started noticing that Miller Lite tasted bad for about 3 beers then starts to taste normal. The same thing happened to my son and a friend of his.
My son switched to Coors light says it doesn't have that bad taste.

I bought some Coors light and going to try it this evening and see if that works.

I've used to drink Busch light and may go back.

Had to back off my "good beer" Shiner Bock. I would drink one or two along with the cheap light beers but the one or two started turning into 5 or 6 and was putting the weight on me.

I can hear the wheels turning in the beer snobs heads about my chosen beers not being beer. So here is a preemptive GFY

could be related to the adjunct grain ratio between the different beers. american light beers use a lot of rice and/or corn in their recipes along with barley. i think its a trade secret on quantities, etc.

Unfortunately most macro brews use corn and other grains and not all barley malt. I believe Shiner uses No cheap grains and only barley malt.

Very interesting.

Not being funny here, wondering if you drink any hard liquor and if your taste for any of them has changed, and how the China virus affects taste depending on product used to produce.

Brandy; grapes or other fruits
Whiskey; grains (plus the different types of whiskeys with different types or ratio of grains)
Vodka; potatoes

all I can say is half a miller light or coors light and I have a headache. I can drink miller and coors though. And I can drink keystone light.

I don't really care for beer but it says something that half a beer of two brands will give me a bad headache. Has to be ingredients and now your reaction to after covid.

Not a big deal to me. I've had loss of taste, smell etc after a few things in my life. And then Iv'e had change of tastes.

The scare tactic of covid is working though as people happen to notice and post on these normal things now.

Crow Hunter nailed the reply!

Headaches and such ...if I drink a few Bud lights out of a can- heartburn.

Normally stay away from light beers anyway but the regular ones are starting not to gravitate to my waistline. Life is unfair.

Lost my sense of taste and smell a few days into a mild case of rona. All bourbon tasted like liquid black pepper. Unpeated scotch was as tasteless as vodka.
Didn't try beer but my son went through it at the same time and said his Bud Light didn't change.

I'm back to normal but my son says some foods still taste different to him.

I haven't been drinking beer but since covid coffee has no flavor. None. Still drink a few cups each morning but I do miss the flavor and aroma of fresh coffee.
