If you had $750-$1500 to spend on a gun safe which one would you go with and why?

Im looking for something in the 25-30 gn area around 450-700 llbs range...the Fort knox vaults look solid but may be out of my range depending on thier price reply to me. Any others like AmSec, Liberty, browning?

Thinking now of maybe building a vault from cinder blocks in the corner of the basement

I have thought that one cast in place with lots of rerod and chain link fence would stop most. They would have to cut through with a saw to get in. Is there anything you could put in the concrete mix that would slow down or stop a saw?

I think the ceiling would be the weak point.
Of course a gun to my head would get mine open.

Been a while since I looked at your vault pictures Don. That was a lot of work. Turned out very well.

Definitely buy bigger than you think you need or want. Scopes rifles and AR’s take up more room than one would expect.

Can second this. If you can recess it in a 3 sided area that is better. The sides are the week spot not the door.

I recently bought my second Liberty, a USA series. $1500.00 won't get one new. Mine was around $2300.00 plus tax and delivery.

Weak spot for most is the floor. Bolt it down, otherwise they only need to tip over & break thru bottom w/sledge.

For that price range the Liberty Fat Boy is a pretty good choice. No safe in this range is truly a "safe" they are all considered a storage container but with the right alarm system they can be pretty effective

Best advice is to buy larger than you think you will ever need. I bought a Liberty. It’s like the Fat Boy only 6 foot tall. It goes along with a Browning I already have. It was a little pricey to move the Liberty at a little over 1000 pounds. It take special equipment. Hasbeen

Definitely buy one that holds double the amount of long guns you want to store. The spacing on the racks won’t allow bolt knobs any clearance from hitting the rifle next to it. Ar’s and lever guns will be a tight fit..
