Jim’s views on oil are somewhat misguided similar to people views on farming.

All they see are farmers that receive subsidies, price supports, low to no interest loans, special wage concessions, different labor laws, don’t have to follow environmental laws, legally destroy our roads with overloaded trucks, etc. All the while crying about not making money from the front seat of their brand new F-250 King Ranch and how they work seven days a week while making 10,000 posts a year. The last comment was a shot at Jim, the previous one were about our local farmers.

We do understand you hate the oil industry.

What isn't dumb...is to look at incorporating alternatives into our energy policy.

If for nothing else than to free up affordable petroleum for the industries that rely on it.

Family in the sugar cane business. I went the oil route.

Alternatives are great. I have solar on my houseboat and love when I don’t have to run the generator. But it gets dark every night. Enough Battery capacity is more expensive than a generator.

Domestically we are producing over one million barrels LESS per day than we did at the end of 2019. That is definitely effecting prices.

If you were the CEO of an oil company would you sign off on an 8 billion dollar Deepwater project after seeing what happened to Keystone? That is what it takes to get one big Deepwater platform in from drilling to pipelines.

Financing is being cut due to threats of boycotts.

Lease sales cancelled or invalidated.

Drill baby drill and prices will come down.

Battery technology (energy storage) is where the improvements need to be made.

Get Warren Buffet into the exploration and production side of things instead of just transportation.

Maybe then it would be okay to invest.

The United States had to buy 10,000,000 barrels of oil from Russia, Iran and OPEC today.

What is conservative about forcing the USA to only buy domestic oil? Not Canadian or Mexican either.

Like Germany can't buy gas from Russia?
