Anyone have a high ride cross draw holster that they like really well?
Recently bought a Ruger Birdshead Wrangler and am thinking I would like a cross draw holster for it.
Seems like Doc Holiday used one in the movie Toumbstone?
And, Billy the Kid used one in the movie Young Guns?
Thanks! Virgil B.

You need to check out Ted Blocker Holsters in Tigard. Ted sold the business to Don brown years back, who worked for George Lawrence. Don recently sold the business and retired. I don't know the new owners, but I can testify that Don would not have sold to someone that wouldn't uphold the good name and quality that they were known for. I have 4 holsters from them, a 2-gun rig called the Thell Reed (known as a great fast draw shooter) and it includes a 12 gauge belt that I used for Cowboy Action Shooting at Tri-County. It is of the highest quality that I have seen, and though pricy, it fit the bill nicely. I also know Ted Blocker personally, and both he and his wife were top shooters in the quick draw game. You cannot go wrong choosing them to do your rig!

I remembered that I had a Barranti crossdraw holster that I had bought for a Ruger Bearcat.
I tried the short barreled Wrangler in it, and It will work, I just need to stretch it a bit.
Am thinking, getting the holster wet with warm water, then shoving the gun in, in a plastic bag, then let it dry should work.
Thanks for the idea of the DeSantis Criss-Cross. 'Nother good option!

Just a Hunter;
That Kirkpatricleather holster looks like it would be great!
After wet molding my Barranti holster, my Birdshead Wrangler fits in it perfect!
Looks like I don't need to buy another.
Thanks for the link! Virgil B.

You're welcome. I have a Kirkpatric Westerner that has held up well over the 20+ years I have had it. Thought about getting the Dodge City a time or two. I am looking at Barranti's too.

Barranti makes a good quality holster.
Sure glad I was able to wet mold this one for my new Wrangler.
It worked out even better than I had hoped.

Second the recommendation of Simply Rugged. I have used them exclusively for 16 years and the sour dough pancake can be carried strong side or cross draw.
