Finally got around to finishing the stock on one of my mini mausers so I thought I would post some photos of both of mine. The wood looked extremely plain when they first arrived but had some pretty decent wood once it was reshaped and properly finished.

The 7.62x39 still needs to have the front sight and swivel stud blued and some feeding issues worked out.

One day if I get good enough I’ll checker them as well

Enjoy!

Very nice work, thank you for sharing photos. What is the other rifle chambered for?

They look great. Really like the barrel bands. Did you find you prefer the larger or smaller of the two cheek pieces?

Thanks for the kind words! I’m honestly not sure on which cheek piece I prefer. The smaller one I actually had my wife draw a line around where my cheek actually touched when I was shouldering it and just made it slightly bigger than that. I was little worried I made it way to small but it didn’t turn out to bad.

And yes they are both zastavas.

The 223 feeds well and is pretty accurate as well.

I literally just finished the stock on the 7.62 x39 so not sure on accuracy but it doesn’t feed well at all. Gonna have to figure that out for sure.

Both are getting new larger handles as I can’t stand the tiny ones that come on them

Nicely done; the stocks are terrible from the factory on those. Looks vastly improved.

Your rifle has the best wood I have seen in any of these. It’s actually the reason I decided to strip mine down and see what was underneath, so thanks for the inspiration

Send it to Dan in Fairbanks tell him you want a longer bolt handle.

I really like that 7.62x39. I wish I had bought one when they were more available. And cheaper.

I'd be tempted to add a three leaf express sight to compliment that barrel band and front sight.
