Anyone here a member of a local chapter?

Sort of, I guess.

We are members of a chapter that’s a few years old and wondered if others were involved in their area.

Trying to get some more horse threads.

There is only one here close. Two years ago, a state park manager was looking for someone to pack trail building tools up to a new trail being built in some rugged country.
I volunteered and was all set. I got a call and the BCH stepped in and took it over. They didn't want someone who was not connected with BCH to participate. After that I met some of the people that were members. Seemed kind of snobbish to me. They didn't ask me or my mules to join.

If God wanted you to walk and carry things on your back, He would not have invented stirrups and pack saddles

The group I was in would welcome you. The head of the forest service decision on guns up here caused me to quit.

Politics/personalities too often creep into an organization. Our group is a very friendly and welcoming group of equestrians. A group of our ladies packed supplies into a Refuge trail crew on three occasions last summer.
