She looks like someone I wish I knew. She and my grandma who passed in 2004 are the same age. My condolences to you all.

A life well lived is a reward from heaven- to live and see so much and still stay clear of mind and spirit is a gift so few receive these days...

We have neighbors across the street from us who are in their mid nineties. He is still going strong and keeps busy around the house, driving to his Elks lodge gatherings and shopping, and pretty much in great health for his age. His wife has had several pretty severe setbacks lately but refuses to give up on anything short of a full life even when it is difficult for her at times. We keep an eye on them and take care of them when they need something and especially in emergencies ... I love hearing the stories of his history and his times as a submariner right after WWII among others... when that generation is gone we will have lost a huge part of our heritage and guidance IMO...

Godspeed to your mother and all those like her...

Sorry to hear about this, sir. My wife’s grandmother passed at 102. Although she rarely left the farm, she knew a lot. She was one of my favorite people to be around. I’ll bet this lady is a lot like her.

A lot can happen in one lifetime. My great grandmother died at 103 when I was in Navy bootcamp in 1988. She went to Buffalo Bills Wild West Show when she was a little girl and they rode to town in a buckboard wagon. She lived to see the space shuttle. Talk about change!

Sorry for your loss. She sounds like the real thing.

Lost my mom in 2020 at age 98. (born 1921)
We are losing the generation that knew about the Great Depression, polio*, WWII, etc, etc.

It is a terrible but absolute fact that we will eventually lose them all.
It is imperative that we get that older generation to give us all the knowledge they can.

* - my mother, bless her heart, hauled me to every polio vaccine clinic she could get me to!
I bet I ate a dozen of those little sugar cubes dosed with polio vaccine! LOL!
