Scrolling through the Wal-Marts online keepin' an eye out for tires, and found Maxxis Bravo AT-771 LT 275/70R18 for $86/each. I'm guessing these are mispriced because most everywhere else they're $250+. They took my order and say they'll be here next week. Might just get lucky! I actually had some leftover WM gift cards, so I think I'm at ~$170 for a set of 4.

Last spring when I put a set on my truck WM had that exact size BFGs for $107 delivered to my somewhat local store. When they called and said they were there I went to get them to find that they were the wrong size. When they offered to get the right size they were out of stock. I got a refund and ended up buying a full priced set of Toyos at my local tire shop, sure would have been nice if they were the right size and saved me about $700.

Good luck!

I bet you’ll get them. Walmart online is my go-to for trailer tires. I’ve bought M-rated 6 and 8 ply tires for a low as $32 per tire. They do great on utility trailers. No one else in our area comes anywhere close to matching that for similar tires.

I have tracking info for them and they show to have shipped, so it looks promising so far.

Dang. Out of stock. I would've put a set in the barn for that price.

Wal-Mart runs clearance sales when sku's change or they drop products etc. I bought some small air compressors for $50.00 that were priced at $145.00 because they changed the sku number. My last two sets of tires have been around $65.00 a tire. Pays to be ready to strike.

Yep when you see a good deal you better jump on it.I just checked on the price of the Coopers I bought from Walmart online last year.I paid a $104.00 per tire. The price of those same tires today is $164.00 per tire.I expected tires to go up,but that is an increase of $240.00 for a set of four.Wow.............

That's why I've been keeping an eye out. Don't strictly need them today but it won't hurt anything for them to sit in the shop.

Oil is a major component of tires. Given what the oil markets have done - might be the lion's share of that upward pressure.

What's the country of origin for Maxxis tires? One place I don't buy discount is the one thing that keeps my vehicle planted on the road.
So many tires actually made in the US by Americans who want to work, but buying American made only goes so far.

Not sure on these and may never find out. FedEx shows the shipment as canceled and Walmart has no idea why. Guess we'll see.

Well, I'll be darned if they didn't show up. Made in Taiwan which is somewhat expected (unlike the Coopers I bought a few years ago that were made in China). They look pretty good. M+S rated but no tri-peak symbol which I wasn't able to determine from the sales literature. 58 lbs. each on the bathroom scale. I figure they're a solid bet at ~40% the cost of most.

If its legit and they really do sell them for that, they have 10k guys watching them every day. When they get them, they're gone immediately.

They were out of stock yesterday evening and back in stock right now. Maybe they're only selling so many a day?? I don't know why they would do that though.

Got an email yesterday from the Walmarks that mine shipped and the tracking link.

There were two left at $86 when I added to cart.
I wasn't going to buy two not knowing if I could get another two.
They are now $268 and in stock.

Damn, guess they were a clearance deal. Anyone else receive theirs yet?

Weird. I checked just after midnight last night. They were “in stock,” but already up to $267/each. Oh, well…

Clearance, or someone finally saw the error in the listing.

I've been getting email updates about shipping. When I first ordered they were supposed to be here Monday the 18th. I just got a delayed shipping email saying they were supposed to be here tomorrow but delayed till Friday the 15th. Shipped from Hesselbein Tire out of Jackson MS via FedX.

They shipped four tires in four different packages, four different tracking numbers.

I'll post when they get here if they do.

Probably gave them a couple wraps with plastic and slapped the label onto each tire. Sticking them together might have incurred some serious weight penalties.

Mine just had a label stuck to the actual tire, no plastic wrap. They all showed up at the same time, though.

3 of the 4 showed up, will give it a few more days on the 4th tire. Tracking indicated just one tire. Not sure what to expect right now.

Got the 4th tire this afternoon. Looks like a decent tire for the price of 382.00 shipped to my door. I expect it to be similar to the pathfinders i bought from discount a few years ago.

Sock Puppet gave me a heads up a couple of nights ago that the price had dropped again. Sure enough, $85.97/ea in stock. Ordered a set, got a confirmation, then woke up to an email that my order had been canceled due to “unusual account activity.” I called WM Customer Service… though I could barely understand the guy, I got that they were having “a lot of system issues”, but he would be more than happy to re-submit the order for me… at $283/each! 🤬. No thanks.

I will keep watching…. Thanks to Sock Puppet for being a stand up guy, though!

Might want to check again tomorrow morning. I just checked the link out of curiousity and they're listed at $85.97 but out of stock.

Had really good luck with a set of Maxxis truck tires on my old Dodge pickup. Got them from Pep Boys. Think they were 16”.

Had quite the opposite with the Maxxis trailer tires for my boat. Lost the entire cap on one and barely made it off of the interstate. Other tire blew the belt sitting under the carport. Those tire were 3 years old with only 5-600 miles on them.

Sample of one. Had really good reviews on the trailer tires but not to be. Replaced with the new Goodyear Marathon tires that are made in the USA. Not the old ones that were blowing out. 3 years and counting on those.

I bought a bunch of Nokians a year or two ago like that... Date stamp showed over 3 years old (i.e. clearance priced). What is your date stamp?

Edit... not that the manufacturing date is critical if they stay out of the sun/storage. Just curious. Thanks.
