Dunno if anybody has the gen 3 or even seen any.
LGS has the gen 2.
Have a prism on a rig and wondered if I should slap these on as backups.

I have DD rear and front nonflips I could use but wanted the prism sight " clear view ".

I have a question which I think will fit in right here. I just bought a set of Magpul front and rear flip ups. Be gentle, I'm a blue and walnut guy, don't know much about AR's. My front sight came with a little key for elevation adjustment. It is just begging to be lost. I know I'll never keep up with it without some help. Anyone devised a way to attach it or store it on the rifle?
Thanks for any help,
Rick

If your prism is an etched reticle, it will work even without juice. If you knock it hard enough to change POA/POI then you may do the very same to irons.

I have a set of the original Magpul BUIS and a set of the "Gen 2". None of them look or feel very robust to me, especially the "Gen 3" which I just went and looked at.

There are more robust and "operationally" designed options out there, I can't justify any of them because of cost and sheer lack of need or training/usage demands.

Good luck with the search.

I have Daniel Defense irons on one rig. Like em fine ( non folding ).
There a reflex is clocked, which I also like.

Yeah, the prism sight has an etched reticle but its most likely going bye bye.

Well, an LPVO will require you to remove it to deploy the irons. The hassle of verifying zero made me eventually build a dedicated irons upper to complement the LPVO and thermal uppers. I have a set of A.R.M.S #40s on the dedicated upper, I bought them from a buddy who won them at a 3gun event, otherwise I would have never spent what they ask for them. They are overkill for my usage, I use them for killing coons, coyotes or foxes trying to get in the chicken coop.

Any A2 type adjustment tool can be substituted. So can a nail, knife, pen, bullet, etc.

To each their own but if I thought I might need irons I'd buy good ones.

The Magpuls I've been around were pieces of schit.

The polymer flip up section rocks ever so slightly, the Gen 2 are MIM and suffer the same issue although not to the same extent.

The A.R.M.S are rock solid and are .5 moa adjustable.

The Magpul are good for teaching kids at the range, no way I would trust them for precision or hunting where I need a precise shot.

I still think an etched reticle prism is the best option. I wish Bushnell hadn't discontinued the TAC Optics Lil P 1x, that is an astigmatism friendly option. I wish there was a replacement for it from Bushnell

The ARMS 40L that I had rocked quite a bit and if sand got in the spring it wouldn't fully engage upright.

The PRI gas block version I saw was the worse, it would almost flop side to side.

I now use Troy flip up's and Daniel Defense fixed, these are not High Power Match sights, they are decent BUIS's. I can make A zone hits out to 300 yards. I never cared for the sight picture of the Magpuls but they were useable.

I like those DD fixed sights. A friend let me try them and he said that is what he used in Afghanistan. He says they are built right and he trusted his life on them. From the looks of them, I would agree. He has a red dot set up in QD's for that rifle. No problems there that I can see? At least for his use. He doesn't have an issue qualifying with the set up.

They didn’t put bullets where they were supposed to go on a regular basis.

Midway every once in a while puts the weird colors of Daniel Defense fixed irons on clearance. Last winter they had the turd brown ones on clearance for a hundred bucks. Kick myself for not grabbing a set.

That would do it.
