I went bass fishing in Florida a few weeks ago. It was a bucket list trip and I was hopeful to top my personal best bass of 8 lbs, 3 oz. I booked 4 days with a guide who specializes in what I wanted. We were fishing with live shiners. In 4 days I caught 3 over 8, 3 over 9, and my best fish was a 10lb, 4 oz monster! I caught another 2 dozen 6’s and 7’s. It was like a fishing trip to Fantasy Island! If somebody is able to post my pictures, I’ll gladly email them. I just can’t do It from my IPad. Rarely does a trip really meet my expectations but this one turned out far better than I could of hoped for!

No. But I will have a picture on the wall of my den. I did get pictures of the measurements though. 26 1/4 long with a girth of 19. She was dripping eggs and ready to spawn.

Thanks and yes they did fight hard! Rodman is absolutely full of stumps and logs. Trying to get them out of the timber was tough. I had quite a few fish break me off.

If I were to ever catch a 10+ pound bass, I definitely will have a repro mount done using pictures and measurements. In my book that's a B&C Largemouth! My personal best is 7-13.
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.
There have been several caught that have been over 12# at the newest go to Florida lake. That being Headwaters, which is adjacent to Stickmarsh, near Fellsmere. I heard Roland Martin or one of his clients caught one over 12# very recently. He has been guiding there and primarily using shiners. I live very close to there but as yet havent fished there. I figure its no place for an old speck fisherman in a 14’ jon boat what with all those (pros) flying around there.
Thanks to all! I’m not much for bragging but, Damn! I couldn’t hardly contain myself! I was able to top my personal best fish, 6 times in the course of 4 days! I had a great trip but give all the credit to my guide. This was a public lake that anyone can fish. However, he knew where to go, what to use, how to present it and what conditions favored catching big fish. I was lucky just to be there! One other thing I wanted to add…every single fish I caught went right back into the water, unharmed and is still growing!
