Lee APP press is adequate for lead pistol bullet sizing, .
The interesting parts about it are the sizer inserts that are on the shelf and ready for cheap.
They can also be used in about any single stage press for sizing lead bullets.

For me, that is where it gets interesting.

I was actually able to push a .509"/600-gr brass Barnes Banded Solid through the .506" sizer
by putting most of my weight on the press handle of the RCBS Rock Chucker.
Then I tried the .503" sizer and the bullet got stuck about halfway through, despite all of my weight on the lever.
I also noted that the aluminum sizer housing (female receptacle part) seemed to have become
"impact welded" to the aluminum thread adapter in the top of the press,
but the male part of the aluminum sizer housing could still be screwed out and allowed switching back to .506",
first step of the sizing.
So I tapped out the stuck bullet with a punch and took it out to the garage where the cheap little one-ton arbor press from Harbor Freight sits.

There is little that cannot be fixed with duct tape, especially Gorilla Tape.
The rotating foot plate on the press was locked in place with Gorilla Tape.
The sizer assembly was placed upside down on it, positioned so the bullet was free to fall into the
homemade bullet catcher between the feet of the arbor press base.
Location was marked with a black Sharpie.
Never fear, one ton per square inch of pressure seems to keep the aluminum in place on the steel foot plate.
Amazingly, the assemby is strong enough to size 100 brass BBS bullets from .509" to .505" in two steps.
No worse for the wear.

Final product above. I was educated on the possibility of using the Lee APP sizer by gunner500.
His suggestion. He supplied the Lee sizer parts shown above,
plus 100 bullets for sizing from .509" to .505",
and I am supplying him with the fruits of his goading:
100 bullets from Bubba Bullet Metamorphosis Technologies, Ltd., very limited,
for use in his .505 Gibbs.
I am keeping the Lee parts (parts is parts) in case I ever need to do some for my .505 Gibbs.

Hell of a tutorial Riflecrank, many Thanks for the leg work Sir, these flat nosed solids will be ALL game wreckers in the 505 Gibbs, even at a very modest 2150 fps, no need to beat ones self half to death at 2500 fps, i was happy to find these very reasonably priced components, Thanks again Sir.

Riflecrank, i loaded one of those big Barnes flat nosed solids, ran it through my 505 Gibbs every way possible except backwards, fast, slow, from the left side of magazine, then from the right, i slammed it home so hard trying to induce a failure i closed the shoulder a bit up close to the neck, thought was, in a rodeo with Buffalo or Hippo a man may be trying to do that for real and when it damn sure counts, nice to know here on dry ground surrounded with nothing but wild Muscovy ducks wanting some sweet feed it works! cool

Fine work Sir, and many Thanks again, the load is 145gr Retumbo, plum Tropical at an easy and low pressure 2250 fps ; ]

I am very happy to hear that gunner500 is in training with his .505 Gibbs.
145 grains of Retumbo behind that slug will harden his shoulder enough to make
his .458 WM+ into a maiden's caress by comparison.
A maiden perfect for caressing any buffalo and plains game.
Keep up the good work gunner500.

LOL, yes Sir Riflecrank, recoil from the 505 has always been the first thought mindset getting ready to place accurate shots, from either bench, off hand or from shooting sticks, it's just part of that beast, whether loaded with 600's at 2150 or all the way to 2500, i will say 2500 is absolutely horrendous, either are much more recoil than my custom stocked 459 WM+ with 14" LOP, that said, and all things mathematical factored in, 50 cal and 570-600gr will have to do a hell of a job to penetrate as well as .458 cal and 500gr, those Trophy Bonded Sledge Hammer solids at 2350+ fps made from extra hard Naval Bronze will be awfully hard to beat for penetration, not sure even the lighter 450-480gr CEB BBW #13's could beat em.

I'll fire that load through the chrono and see where it lands at 50 yards, got work done over the last couple days, a week of rain is on the way, will say all will fully penetrate Cape Buffalo at any angle and exit Elephant on side brain shots, that's about all we would ever need done imho, Thanks again Sir.
