This is the latest Sandford book and the protagonist is Letty Davenport, the now 24 year old adopted daughter of Lucas Davenport. Letty works for Senator Colles and is tasked with the job of working with a DHS man to investigate some Permian Basin oil that's gone missing. The questions are who is stealing and for what purpose. It turns out that the investigtors find a possible link to domestic militias and possible terrorism. The book goes on from there to a fitting conclusion leading into another novel. Texas/Mexico border issues are a major part of the plot.
This was a pretty good book to read with nearly 400 pages length.

Always liked his books in the past. Read the preview for it and maybe that's not enough but think I'll pass. Letty comes across as a smart ass, know it all, 24 year old, rich liberal, Stanford graduate whose Daddy got her the job. Most likely a Biden voter.

Yep,,, Once she started killing and planned to do more the book was almost unreadable. I don't like Virgil Flowers either,, his Kidd and LuEllen books were my favorites by far!

I will have to look at that. I have 18 books of Sandfords 32 Prey series read and all of the Virgil Flowers series read.
I put it on a hold at my library for my Kindle . I am number 154 of 27 copies
