I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I had no issues in my 1 in 10 or 1 in 8 My recipe was 24.0 gr. of 4895...either one.

I'm Looking to use them in a AR Shorten them up to fit in the magazine (2.250" oal) and work up. The problem may be finding AR Comp. I shot that in a Savage 1 in 9 twist predator. Very accurate load. At the time I was using those, that bullet was available and cheap, as compared to others.

Pick you poison: https://stevespages.com/224_8_70.htmlAll great powders for sure. That bullet isn't finicky. If it were me, I'd pull out the Hornady load manual and look up a good powder that I have on hand, start in the middle and work up. You should find a good accuracy node somewhere in between the middle and max book loads. Another thing I do is pick a powder that allows for consistent charge weights to be dropped from the powder measure. The reason I use a lot of AR Comp and similar powders in the little 223 case. Varget? No, it doesn't meet that requirement in my powder measure anyway. I like to keep things simple, while also maintaining a certain level of precision. In a bolt action 223, that means sub moa for 10 shots. Most of my ar15's also meet that requirement. I shoot a lot of 223 through such rifles, so the quicker I can load up 300+ rounds the better. With a good powder measure I will easily load up that much per hour on my single stage. Others standards and requirements may be different.

BSA/Lawrence,
I can never have enough powder options on what will work on the rifles I shoot and load for...
I don't try new powders out any more, as the many I've used have proven to work well in many cartridges...
you must use a progressive press..... myself, I am more like Fred Flintstone, using an Older Rock Chucker and loading each one.. ONE at a time..
spending time out in the shed and loading ammo, away from the rest of the house hold is my get away time...usually do it at night, or on rainy days on the weekends.. while the wife is camped out in the living room with the TV on from 4 AM to 4 AM daily for her....seems to be her preferred social life in the last 10 years..
no problems in the relationship.. she just loves to get lost in the TV, particularly old movies.. 24 hours a day when she is off work from the hospital...
she's more an indoor person and I'm more an outdoor person....
but I'm like you.. one can never have enough primers, and enough of certain powders like AR Comp or H 322, or Benchmark... etc etc etc...
bullets doesn't seem to be a problem for me... buy when I find them on sale like everything else...
I probably send 6K to 8K rounds down range in some way each year....
This year I seem to be shooting a lot of 40 gr V Maxes down range at either sage rats or gongs at 300 and 400 yards at the local range.. fueled with either 11 grains of Alliant Steel or 11 grains of Blue Dot...right at 3000 fps MV...
come deer season this year, my 260 Rem is going to feel like shooting a 300 Win Mag....
Just wish we can get democRats out of office and life get back to normal in this country.....where a $15 box of 1000 primers doesn't cost, a $115.00 and a pound of powder stayed at $20 to $25.00 or less...and there are NO shortages with everyone hoarding everything they can get.. just to let it set in the garage on a shelf getting dusty....

I load on a single stage. One at a time too buddy.. I hear you about shooting the bigger stuff. The biggest I've been shooting lately is my 6.5 man bun. Shot a real mans rifle yesterday. Actually 2 of my lightweight 30-06 rifles (win model 70 fwt's) and my shoulder is sore. I know, I'm a woos. See what shooting the 22-250, 223 and 6.5 creedmoor does to a guy. And they think the 270 is gay.. I've been wanting to try your blue dot loads in the 223, but all of my 223's are AR's. I don't think they would work well in that platform. I need a good 223 bolt gun I guess. I'll be on the look out for one of those soon. I hear you on getting those dirty democrats out of office too. I'm all for that!!!! Those jokers running this country are making us all look bad.

That is the only bullet I will not load anymore. I have wasted over 500 of them try to find at least one of my 5 different 223 rifles to shoot it. I have 2 that are not stock at all.
One is a ar15 i put together with a WOA 18" SPR with a matched bolt from them. It has a drop in trigger group that breaks at 2.75lbs. I am using a front and rear bag riders to help stabilize the gun while shooting. A 6-20 vortex viper fine crosshair scope. it shoots 69gr Sierras into a 0.29" 7 shot group.
The other is a savage with a Shilen select match 1-8tw at 26" The trigger is set to 1lb. It has a Boyds tactical stock and it is pillar and glass bedded. 6.5x24 mildot scope. It will put the Sierra 60gr hp bullets into a 0.17" group. The 69hpbt go into a 0.21" groups
The best I ever got with the hornady was 1.11" group out of all of my rifles. But I want something more accurate than I can make these run.
I hope you find something that works. If not, sell them off to get something else.
