I have two HAWKE Endurance rifle scopes 3x9x40 mm With their 30-30 illuminated ( in red) reticle. Both have been mounted and used on light rifles ( one a .223 and the other a .17 Remington) There is a slight ring mark on one that won't show up in pics.Both are in excellent condition and worked well for me. I have upgraded to HAWKE Vantage scopes which have both red and green reticle illum.....which is why these are on the market! As advertised these really DO have generous eye relief. Currently selling for $179.99 I will sell these in their original boxes for $129 shipped TYD CONUS

Can you see the center portion of the reticle without the illumination being activated?

Yes, absolutely. It shows up as regular black until you turn on the illum.
