The Republicans will shake their fists at the sky in indignation, but when Trump gets back in the Oval Office they just won't be able to put a bill across the finish line for Trump to sign. Same as Obamacare - the Republicans are collectively useless when it comes to meaningful change.

Well, if I were a sitting US Senator, as with All US Senators I would be a card carrying member of the swamp and my goals would be, to collect as much campaign contribution cash as I could, I would take as much cash as I could from lobbyists and special interest groups, I would make sure that I got my fare share of the Ukrainian relief fund scam, I would shake hands and kiss babies, AND I would lie through my teeth in order to stay in power while doing NOTHING to benefit my constituents. I mean, what else is there, that’s why I would be a Senator, right. I guess you can't complain then.

I'd say that is very accurate and we have history to back that up. I remember when the Patriot Act was brought out there were several high profile democrats against it. Now that we have it in place they have used it in so many unconstitutional ways you'd have thought they designed it in the first place.

I received a letter from Senator Robert Byrd in response to my request that he fight the Patriot Act. That's one thing that I can credit him for. Ron Paul was also outspoken against it. The GOP would not support Dr Paul in spite of his overwhelming public grass roots popularity when he ran for pres.
