A boy that I grew up with who had repeatedly failed grade levels in junior high school and quit at 16 ended up in the Army and was KIA shortly after arrival in Vietnam. We all knew that he wasn’t all there.
Life Member NRA, RMEF, American Legion, MAGA. Not necessarily in that order.

I was drafted in 1959, went in the Army in 1960 Feb 14th Valentines Day, each County had a Quota, i was from a big county, with a small population, there were a lot of people drafted that were handicapped, our could not read or write, most of them got weeded out in basic training, long story, i got out on Oct. of 1963, and discharged in May of 1964, it was not a fun time to be in the military.
