crimping 44 magnum? #17229940 05/08/22 Joined: Jul 2009 Posts: 907 midwest T tcp OP Campfire Regular OP tcp Campfire Regular T Joined: Jul 2009 Posts: 907 midwest For those that reload cast bullets in 44 magnum, do you crimp with the ring in the seater die at the same time you seat the bullet, or as a separate step? And if doing as a separate step, do you use the seater die with the seating plug backed off or use a dedicated crimping die? Thanks If you can't be a good example, may you at least serve as a dreadful warning

Then Lee came out with the Factory Crimp Die, and I switched to that. Later Lee came up with the collet die and I've been using that. Castor Oil Case Lube Lee Auto Bench Prime

I keep my Hornady die set for 44 Mag cases and an RCBS setup for Specials. It probably helps that I use one bullet for 95 percent of my 44 loads and once I get the die set I lock it down and don’t monkey with it.

I've been shooting the "Skeeter Skelton load" for the past 25 + years, a 200gr. RNFP bullet over 7.5gr. of Unique.

I used to shoot a lot of that one.

Don't be the darkness. America will perish while those who should be standing guard are satisfying their lusts.
