As put in one of L'Amour's novels, "Some folks are just determined to be inoccent bystanders".

The fact that there was an earlier, smaller slide should be a hint …..

I have a buddy with a cabin down on Lowell point, we used to fish on the rocks about 100 yards past where that slide is. I’ll have to call him and see if he’s stuck at the cabin.

A water taxi is being run from Miller’s to Seward for those on the “wrong” side.

Except L'Amour could spell "innocent".... my bad.

Kid - what did you fish for, and what did you catch? I've wondered about that area, never tried it.

We’d catch silvers when they were in. I caught a couple small rockfish there with my surf rod and had a little king follow my spoon right to the rocks once.

It is all sitting on volcanic ash... the gray flour... lots of it everywhere repeating these slides. The slides around Kodiak can be epic from the 42" of ash from the 1912 Novarupta eruption.

Seward's slide here may be from the same source.

Stormchasers still out that way? They hosed up about everything they touched on my 225 honda at the time...pinched an o-ring on the HP fuel pressure housing ("burned" 60 gallons on the next 40-gallon trip), pinched the exhaust manifold o-ring so was getting a mess of cooling water and exhaust under the cowl, etc. Half of Anchorage had their boat parked out there during the summer.

They were last year...

The othef boatyard down there put out some pretty special work, too.
